At Crossroads Tabernacle, we believe strongly in training people to be champions for Christ! It is our prayer that as you attend the Cross Training classes, you will develop a greater love and understanding for the plan that God has for you. These classes are designed for new believers as well as those who are established in their faith. As you learn to incorporate God’s Word into your life, you will become a mighty champion for him! Just as runners have to go through rigorous training before they begin a race, new believers need to take time at the beginning of their journey to prepare in order to endure and finish the race. Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart (Hebrews 12:1-3) We offer a series of classes designed to equip followers of Jesus with the foundation and training they need to live effective and fruitful lives. Each class fulfills one of our four purposes in our   mission statement   and trains every believer with what they need to know, experience, and do to make it as a Christian.  The moment anyone accepts the gift of new life in Christ, they have begun a race that leads to unbroken fellowship with God in His heavenly kingdom.  There are several stages to this race:  Warm Up: “Welcome to Your New Life In Christ” This class is designed to help you discover what happened when you accepted God’s offer to run with Jesus on the path to abundant and everlasting life.  Class 101 [GATHERING]: Commit to Membership by attending The Pastor’s Welcome                                               Class and “Joining the Team” Every successful runner has a support team, especially those in a relay. The good news for every believer is that you are not alone on your journey. One of the first crucial steps is to connect with a small group of Christians for fellowship, support and accountability.  At Crossroads we call this stage “Join the Team,” which includes lunch with Pastor Corey and Beth Ann following a morning service. In this setting you will hear about the story of our church, our core values, our strategy and our beliefs. This class will also provide you with all the information you need to know in order to become a member of our church. We believe membership in a local church is vital to every Christian’s spiritual growth.  Class 201 [GROWING]: Commit to Discipleship by attending the Discovering Spiritual                                           Growth Class and “Strength Training” Effective running also requires new habits and practices that help the runner develop speed and endurance.  New life in Christ is something that needs to be cultivated and developed with commitments to time with God, prayer, church attendance, and an understanding of how to overcome barriers to growth. Discovering the resources and experiences God has provided for us will help us mature in our walk with Jesus. If you have attended "The Pastor's Class" this is the next step for you!  This class will help you build strong foundations in your walk with Christ.  There are four topics the will be addressed in the class. The subjects are: "What if I trip and fall down?" "How do I hurdle over temptation?" "How do I develop the endurance to keep running?" "Why can't I train alone?"  Class 301 [GIVING]: Commit to Service by attending the Discovering Your Ministry Class                                      and “Team Placement” Runners in a relay are positioned based on their different areas of strength in running; each part is vital to success. God has also shaped every believer with a specific set of spiritual gifts, passion, abilities, personality traits and experiences that determine our place of ministry and service in His kingdom. You too can discover your place on God’s track team.  Class 401 [GOING]: Commit to Evangelism by attending the Discovering You Life                                     Mission Class and learning how to “Pass It On” The final skill necessary when running a relay is learning how to effectively pass a baton. One mistake, and the whole team could be disqualified. The follower of Jesus must know that the stakes are far higher when it comes to passing their faith on to others. This class will help you focus on the mission God has specifically designed for you!
