In August of 2007, Pastor Michelle had a radical encounter with the Lord. He spared her from a nearly fatal collision after hearing a voice tell her to “turn right.” When she obeyed, she missed being hit by a one-ton dually truck that had run a red light. After pulling into a grocery store parking lot (all her kids were in the car with her), the same voice that told her to “turn right” told her to “come home,” she knew in an instant home meant the Presence of the Lord. She had first encountered the Presence of the Lord through an Easter service at Crossroads Tabernacle and knew “home” also meant Crossroads. She and her family went to church that following Sunday and have been here since.
Pastor Michelle Gustin has been the Youth Pastor at Crossroads since 2023. Born in New York City, New York, but raised in Mesquite, TX, she claims both the North and the South. She calls it the best of both worlds. She has served in multiple capacities since being at Crossroads in 2007. Pastor Michelle has been married to Troy since 2004, and they have five children (his, hers, and ours), one daughter-in-law, and an almost three-year-old grandson. Troy works as a Project Manager. Pastor Michelle has been working at Crossroads since 2014 and was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene in April 2023 in Lubbock, TX.
Pastor Michelle would tell you she is a former lonely girl the Lord placed in a family to learn how to be a daughter who receives the love of her Everlasting Father. Psalm 68:6 is her testimony. It says:
“God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.” — Psalm 68:6 (NIV)
